Divyanka Tripathi Urges PM Modi To Rid India Of Rapists In A Series Of Hard-Hitting Tweets

There is no denying the fact that we all get disturbed when we get to hear about the rape incidents which take place in our country. It won’t be incorrect to say that we have failed as a nation as we can’t provide a safe atmosphere to the women of the country and the more shocking aspect is that even minor girls are not safe in India.

A 12-yr girl was raped by an unknown man in Chandigarh when she was returning home from school after celebrating the Independence Day. Her only fault was that she took a short cut to her house and the rapist took the opportunity to sexually assault her.

Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’s lead actress Divyanka Tripathi got very much distressed after this shameful incident and expressed her fury on Twitter. She wrote, “Why don’t we give gruesome punishments for gruesome crimes? Yet another rape! What independence are we talking about?”

The actress definitely made a point when she tweeted, “Women must stop voting for any party as they are so unimportant for this nation! It’s a ‘No Woman’s Land’ or a #RapistsParadise we live in! For what must we vote? 70 years of independence hasn’t set us free! All parties must WAKE UP NOW! Every woman deserves security!”

Divyanka went on to say that she doesn’t want to give birth to a daughter as this place is hell for her. She tweeted, “I never prayed for a son but now I’m afraid to have a daughter. What will I tell her? Why did I push her to hell from heaven?”

In a series of tweets, she expressed her frustration and urged PM Modi to rid India of rapists under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan:

She also asked PM Modi to take a strict action against such criminals so that it becomes a lesson for others. She wrote, “Punish these violators in a way that it becomes a lesson to those who think about committing such a crime. We have faith in you, please do something.”

We can’t agree more with the actress when she replied to a fan who stated “education begins at home” and Divyanka wrote, “We live in fear & criminals live fearlessly! I can teach my daughter great values but in such a scenario can’t promise her a free life!”

She further tweeted, “Post independence day celebrations we are more in need of #WomanFreedomFight!”

Well-said Divyanka! We fully understand her concern and wish that the government takes serious steps to deal with the issue.
