For family and relatives
1. Dry fruit gift box
The safest Diwali gift in India, and nobody has ever returned a box of kaju. Look for sealed boxes with a clear weight (250g to 500g) and an expiry date at least three months away.

Practical, and parents love it more than they admit. Insulated steel bottles from brands like Milton keep tea hot for hours, which makes them a winner for winter.

5. Scented candle set
Works for the colleague you only know from Zoom calls. Pick mild fragrances like vanilla or sandalwood; strong ones can be a headache in small flats.

A snake plant or money plant survives even the friend who forgets to water anything. It also looks better on a work desk than another mug.

Tips before you order
- Order early. Deliveries slow down in the last week before Diwali, especially outside metro cities.
- Check ratings, not just stars. A 4.2 rating from 5,000 buyers means more than a 4.8 from 12.
- Buy in bulk for office gifting. Many sellers offer lower prices on packs of 5 or 10.
- Skip sale links on WhatsApp. Fake Diwali sale pages are common; open Amazon directly or use the links on trusted sites.
