“Don’t Think SKY Is Clear In His Head And Heart,” Ex India Coach On Suryakumar Yadav’s ODI Form

The Indian cricketer Suryakumar Yadav may have found a place in the 15-member Indian squad for the ICC ODI World Cup but his record is quite pathetic in ODIs despite the fact that he is the number one T20 batter of the world. He has been quite honest when he accepted in an interview that his numbers in ODIs are pretty bad and he is trying his best to level up his game in this format too. With the return of KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer in the team, it will be difficult for SKY to find a place in the playing eleven, in fact in the ongoing Asia Cup 2023, he wasn’t a part of the playing eleven in the first two matches which India played against Pakistan and Nepal.

The former batting coach of Indian team, Sanjay Bangar feels that the biggest problem for Suryakumar Yadav is get boundaries in the middle overs when the ball gets old.

In a sports show, Sanjay Bangar states that SKY has already said that Rahul Dravid is there and he has talked to him. As per him, the biggest factor is that it is not easy to score boundaries in the middle overs and when 3-4 batters get dismissed, then the big problem is to hit boundaries as the ball gets old.

Sanjay Bangar praises Suryakumar Yadav by calling him a versatile batter who targets the boundaries and has a good idea where to hit them but Bangar is of the opinion that SKY needs to find out a way to bat between 25th and 40th over.

Sanjay Bangar adds that he thinks SKY doesn’t have clarity in his head and heart in regard to how to bat during this period. He further says that SKY may bat like he bats in T20Is but if wickets fall, then he needs to find out how to rotate strike and hit boundaries between the 25th and 40th over.

Talking about the fact that after the return of KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar has less chance of making it to the playing eleven, Sanjay Bangar says that if there is an opening, SKY should be given a chance to play but giving him chance just for the sake of game time is not correct as there is no time left for any experimentation.

Will SKY get a chance to play in the Asia Cup 2023 or the ODI World Cup 2023? What do you think?
