There is no denying the fact that looks are an important part of an actor’s career and for the same, many actors and actresses have resorted to cosmetic procedures and plastic surgeries as well.
Some time back, we heard about Rajkummar Rao going under the knife as a photo of the actor went viral in which his chin appeared to be longer and this made people believe that he had done plastic surgery.
Recently, actor Emraan Hashmi was asked to comment on the need for actors to opt for plastic surgeries and why there is such insecurity among the actors. Emraan Hashmi asked the panel members to name the actors and one of them took the name of Rajkummar Rao and there was a smile on the face of Emraan Hashmi after that.
Responding to the question, Emraan stated, “It is a reality. I mean, the cosmetic business. Not just in the industry but it’s a thing that they marketed pretty well. Everyone wants to look like that poster boy or girl and there’s become this identity of what beauty is, right? And you want to mould yourself to that because that’s what gets the love and you feel good about yourself. Coming to cosmetic surgery, I haven’t gotten any, if you’re thinking.”

However, some time back, Rajkummar Rao addressed the rumours of going under the knife and while talking about the viral photo, he said that it is fake as he is not that smart and the person in the photo looks like a member of the Korean Pop.
In the words of Rajkummar Rao, “First of all, I’ve lost some weight on my face and I’m very particular about doing my cardio, I’m hardcore when it comes to skipping or running. Long back when I gave my first audition for LSD, I still remember getting that call from Dibakar Banerjee and he said I like your test but there’s some weight on your face, you need to lose that. And it’s been 15 years, I’m still running every day because, you know, some things, they stay with you. But that particular picture that you’re talking about, I also saw that picture and now, when you look at me and you think about that picture, they’re not the same people. They’re two different people. So that picture, that’s flawless skin, it looks like some Korean K-pop star and I’m not that guy. I’m not that good looking, I know my reality. But it certainly looks like a little touch-top picture, you know, like somebody has played some prank on that picture.”
He further added, “When I was starting out, a lot of people would comment on my looks and everything. So, 8-9 years back, my dermatologist told me that my face was slightly imbalance, which is why I used very little filler on my chin, just to balance it out and I’m glad I did that because I definitely feel confident. I feel I look much better now than I was 10 years back and you can see that in my films. After that (procedure), I’ve done films like Shaadi Mein Zaroor Ana, Newton, Trapped etc. But plastic surgery, no, I’ve not done any kind of plastic surgery.”
