Shilpa Shetty, a well-known actress and businesswoman, has long been a fixture in the public eye, known for her successful career in Bollywood and her various entrepreneurial ventures. She has managed to balance her film career with her business endeavors, including her popular restaurants. However, recent events have placed her family under a harsh spotlight, leading to some difficult decisions.
Shilpa Shetty recently announced on her Instagram that her well-known Mumbai restaurant Bastian Bandra would be closing its doors. In a heartfelt message, she called it the “end of an era”, saying goodbye to a place that created many memories and was a key part of the city’s nightlife since it opened in 2016. She mentioned that a special farewell event would be held for their most loyal customers to celebrate the restaurant one last time.
While the Bandra location is shutting down, a different chapter will begin for a different location as her other venue, Bastian at the Top, will continue the legacy. The restaurant was a joint venture between Shilpa Shetty and her partner, restaurateur Ranjit Bindra, and was particularly famous for its seafood.
Here is the post which was made by Shilpa Shetty:
The closing of the restaurant comes just weeks after Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra were accused of cheating a businessman. The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Mumbai police charged the couple and an unknown third person based on a complaint from a man named Deepak Kothari. He claimed that the couple’s now-defunct company, Best Deal TV Pvt Ltd, had allegedly defrauded him of over 60 crore rupees. Deepak Kothari stated that he had invested the money between 2015 and 2023 for business expansion but the funds were allegedly used for personal expenses instead. The EOW is currently investigating the case.
In response to the allegations, the couple’s lawyer Prashant Patil stated that the claims were “baseless and malicious”. He clarified that the issue was a civil matter, not a criminal one, and had already been resolved in court. Prashant Patil explained that the company had faced financial difficulties and had been involved in a long legal dispute which resulted in a liquidation order.
He mentioned that all the necessary documents including detailed financial records had been provided to the EOW multiple times. The lawyer asserted that the complaint was an attempt to damage his clients’ reputations and that they were preparing to take legal action against the accusers.
