A PhD holder who was successful to bluff all his colleagues, students for 3 years is now put behind the bars. R Ashok Kumar Choudhary, 35 from Guntur is a man of tremendous dedication, intelligence with 3 fraudulent degree certificates and is a class 8 dropout who started working in a photo copier shop after this failure.

The dropout from Andhra Pradesh tells the tale of a genius who had dreams to be a respected person with fraudulent certificates. To get a teaching job, he forged an M.Sc, an MBA and a PhD and worked as a lecturer for 3 years before getting arrested on April 10.

Ashok Kr. Choudhary changed his name officially to Ravi Kumar Reddy had been a professor at Saveetha Engineering College near Kancheepuram. He claimed to be an expert in Power Systems and imparted education to the Electronics and Electrical students. No one doubted him and he was a good teacher according to the students.

How did he manage to do all this? This question aroused on everyone’s mind and the investigating officer said, “He wanted to be respected as an educated person. A lot of students would leave their textbooks to be photocopied. Choudhary would make an extra copy of the book and read it at leisure time.”

With Industrial Training Institute Diploma he got a job and later moved to a better job and his ambitions kept on developing wings.

He joined a preparation class for CAT moving to Delhi and with his extraordinary learning capabilities the institute offered him a part time job on completion of the course. He had forged a PhD by the time from Indian Institute Of Sciences, Bangalore. He got a job in Saveetha Engineering College and would earn 1.12 lakh per month!

Choudhary alias Reddy would download and read content to in order to teach his students.

Refusal to meet a team of academics who wanted to discuss on topic of his interest raised eyebrows of his colleagues with suspicion in their minds.

On checking the IISc alumnus his colleagues found out B. Ravi Kumar with all the credentials matching except his photograph. And the brilliance coated with a fraudulent mind ends up behind the bars.
