Jio has faced enough problems from other telecom operators. Vodafone, Idea and Airtel always lodge some or other complaint against it so as to stop its offers, but now, enough is enough! It is Jio’s turn to counter-attack; after its Summer Surprise offer was withdrawn due to a complaint by competitors, it decided to teach them a lesson.
Yes, now Reliance Jio has written a powerful letter to TRAI highlighting a dark fact about other telcos. The company has alleged that other telecom operators are using “Deceptive” and “Unfair” means to stop their customers from switching to Jio.

On 10th of April, Jio wrote a letter to TRAI stating how these 3 operators offer promotional packs, tariff offers, customized post-paid plans and specific STVs only to those customers who wish to switch the network. According to Jio, they use this strategy to influence the customers so that they don’t change their mind and stick to the same network.
Moreover, it is of the opinion that “Strongest action” should be taken and “Highest penalty” must be implied because they violate the mobile number portability guidelines, telecom tariff orders and license norms.
Jio further added that they are presenting these offers secretively i.e. one-to-one basis and aren’t making it available for all. Also, these offers aren’t available on their websites.
In the 5 page letter, Jio wrote,
“At the outset, we submit that so far as these MNP offers are concerned, these are in gross violation of extant telecom laws including Telecom Tariff Order, 1999.”
A spokesperson of Vodafone said that since the needs of customers are different, “Engaging” and “Exciting” offers are presented in accordance with norms, regulations and industry best practices.

A spokesperson of Bharti Airtel also opposed these allegations and said that the offers are in compliance with the guidelines and regulations.
Idea hasn’t given any response as of now.
Not only this; Jio also alleged that the call center executives of Airtel, Vodafone and Idea are misguiding the users and providing false information about Jio’s network coverage and service quality.
Jio said,
“The call centre recordings reveal a vicious campaign underway to defame and vilify the services being offered by Reliance Jio.”
Now, Jio wants TRAI to “Take cognizance of the vilification and defamation campaign underway against RJIL” and ask them to “Cease and desist” such acts.
Jio is right on its part; many a times we see that in order to stop the customer from porting to other network provider, such lucrative discounts are offered. Shouldn’t the benefits be offered to everyone instead?
