Demonetization move was taken to put a stop on the black money and the fake currency which has been circulating in the country for a long time now. However, this move has drastically affected the entire nation. While most of the people are supporting the move, they can’t deny the inconvenience they have to face when standing in queues for hours to withdraw money or exchange old notes for their daily needs.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi called the demonetization move, a surgical strike, on the corrupt and black money holders. But families who have weddings are adversely affected by this surgical strike. The ‘lagan’ period has started, but due to demonetization hundreds of marriages have been put off. People who have withdraw, arranged cash for the marriage are now facing a great difficulty in exchanging cash.

But there’s one family in the Prime Minister’s constituency of Varanasi, who are very thankful to the PM for saving their daughter’s marriage. Jitendra Sahu, a weaver, was in a shock after the PM Modi’s announcement of banning the old Rs. 500-100 notes.

Jitendra was jobless, but he had saved money for his daughter’s marriage, but the demonetization move left him devastated.

Jyoti Sahu, daughter of Jitendra, saw the troubles her parents were facing just to get her married. She took the bold step of asking prime minister for help, she appealed to Modi through a letter sent on November 9.

Something surprising and totally unexpected happened nine days later. A local district official came to their aid, handed them Rs.20,000 for the marriage. He informed the family that the Prime Minister Modi had sent the money for Jyoti’s marriage after reading her letter.
