Bigg Boss has long been one of the most popular reality shows of India, keeping audiences hooked with its mix of drama, arguments and unexpected twists. The format of locking celebrities inside a house, cutting them off from the outside world and filming their every move has created countless viral moments over the years. Now, a similar show from Pakistan has caught attention online, sparking a wave of comparisons.

A clip from the Pakistani reality series Tamasha recently went viral on social media. The video shows contestants inside a house engaging in heated arguments and dramatic confrontations, scenes that strongly reminded viewers of Bigg Boss. Much like its Indian counterpart, Tamasha follows celebrities as they live together under constant camera surveillance, with their interactions and conflicts forming the heart of the show.

The short video was shared online with the caption “Bigg Boss from Meesho” and quickly began circulating across Instagram. Within days, it racked up more than two million views, attracting thousands of comments from amused and critical users.

Many social media users described Tamasha as a low-budget copy of Bigg Boss, with remarks such as “cheap copy” and “Bigg Boss inside a 3BHK house” filling the comment section. Some even joked that while Bigg Boss is known for loud, no-holds-barred fights, arguments in Tamasha might be more polite and restrained. Others criticised Pakistan for copying Indian shows, while a few viewers were genuinely curious about where they could watch full episodes.

The similarities between the two programs are not surprising. Both Bigg Boss and Tamasha trace their roots to Big Brother, the Dutch reality format created by John de Mol Jr. The concept has been adapted in many countries, with housemates staying together in a specially designed house, completely cut off from the outside world, as they face weekly eliminations until one winner remains.

In India, Bigg Boss has grown into a massive franchise that has lasted for more than eighteen seasons. Its nineteenth season, hosted by Salman Khan, premiered on August 24 and is currently airing on Colors TV and JioCinema. Meanwhile, the viral buzz around Tamasha has introduced many viewers to Pakistan’s take on the global format, though not without sparking debates about originality.
