As far as the match is concerned, India dominated in all the segments of the game and registered a very comfortable victory by 7 wickets against their arch-rivals. Pakistan got a steady start and both the batters – Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan looked in good touch but they were not able to make big scores. After they both got out, Pakistan lost wickets in short intervals and in around 13 overs, the team went from 155/3 to 191/10.
Indian skipper Rohit Sharma led from the front as he played a blistering knock of 86 runs (63 balls, 6 fours & 6 sixes) and he was well supported by Shreyas Iyer who also scored a fifty (53 runs not out, 62 balls, 3 fours & 2 sixes). India completed its chase in the 31st over and maintained its record of being invincible against Pakistan in the ODI World Cup by winning this 8th ODI.
