The Indian cricket team is all set to face the English cricket squad in the semi-finals of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 which is being played at Australia and this is certainly going to be a tough match despite the fact that India has performed pretty well in the Super 12 stage. The semi-final between India and England will be played on 10th Nov 2022 at Adelaide Oval and the winner of this match will play the finals on 13th Nov against the team which will win the first semi-final that will be played on 9th Nov 2022 between New Zealand and Pakistan.
The social media networks are also flooded with reactions of cricket lovers as they are expressing their excitement for the match but there are some people who are making memes which are reminding everyone of Aamir Khan starrer Bollywood movie “Lagaan”.
Released in 2001, “Lagaan: Once Upon A Time In India” was directed by Ashutosh Gowariker and it starred Aamir Khan, Gracy Singh, Rachel Shelley, Paul Blackthorne and others in important roles. “Lagaan” was a sports drama based in the pre-Independence era and the story revolved around a bet as per which if the Indians defeated the British in a cricket match, their lagaan (tax) would be waived off.
Many online users are connecting the second semi-final between India and England with the match being played in “Lagaan” and the results are certainly very hilarious.

After winning the last Super 12 match against Zimbabwe, the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma talked about the semi-final and said that it would be important for them to get acquainted and adjusted with the conditions as soon as possible. He adds that though they have played a match over there, still the match against England will be a great contest as the England cricket team is playing good cricket. Hitman further says that they will ensure they stick to their plans which have helped them in reaching the semi-finals and see that each cricketer plays his role properly.
