The relations between India and Pakistan have not been very good since the independence of both the countries; however despite that, there has been cultural exchange between the nations and many Pakistani artists have came to India to try their luck in Bollywood. However, after the unfortunate Uri attacks, things have changed a lot and B-Town was also affected with the repercussions of this terrorist assault.
After the Uri attacks, there was a widespread discontent over the fact that Pakistan is conducting terrorist attacks in India and Bollywood is providing work to Pakistani actors. Some political parties took benefit of the situation and started protesting the release of movies which had Pak actors. One of these movies was Karan Johar’s “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil” and Fawad Khan was in a supporting role in the film. The flick got released after producers agreed to the political party’s demands and Fawad Khan along with other Pak actors left India.
Fawad had maintained a silence so far but lately, he talked about how he felt after that unfortunate episode. He revealed during an interview to a leading daily, “Obviously, I’m not a man of steel in that people’s words don’t affect me. They might hurt me. But I am becoming immune to it as time goes by.”
He also talked about his friendship with people in Bollywood,
“I’m still in touch with a lot of my friends there. Nothing’s really changed. Obviously, I’m not a man of steel in that people’s words don’t affect me. They might hurt me. But I am becoming immune to it as time goes by. I have no expectations from them, and that’s what I think has developed this camaraderie. Even if I don’t work with them ever again, I’ll still always have love and regard for them, and I assume that’s how they feel as well. That’s why we’re still in touch. We even make plans to meet, to catch-up.”
When he was asked about his plans for future, he said,
“Wherever the wind blows me, I’ll go! My eventual goal is to have enough experience to produce something on my own.”
Well, he is a great actor and we are sure that he will accomplish his goal pretty soon.
