Reputation is very important in any business and no organization likes to get their image tarnished but sometimes, few incidents take place which hamper the reputation of an organization and there is almost nothing that can be done to control the damage. Uber, the cab service provider, is finding itself in a tight corner in France where a person has sued it for €45 million and alleged that Uber is responsible for his divorce.
The person who has filed the suit against Uber is from Côte d’Azur, South of France, and as per him, the Uber app has sent all his travel notifications, pick-up locations, drop destinations and time of travelling to his wife which made her doubtful of him having an extra-marital affair.
This happened because once he used his wife’s phone to use the Uber app and even though he logged out from it, it kept on sending the details of his journey on his wife’s phone.
Why has this happened in the first place? Well, this is a technical problem in which if a user logins through another device, the app will save the information and will keep on sending all the details on that device even though the person has logged out.
It indicates that if we once use another person’s device to use the app, the person might be having all the information about our visits. However, Android users need not to worry in view of the fact that this bug is occurring on merely iOS systems subsequent to updation in Dec, 2016.
The first hearing of the case is said to be taking place the next month. But who is the culprit in this case; the husband, the wife who didn’t trust her husband or Uber? What is your opinion? Share your views in the comments section below.
