Uri attacks had divided the entire Bollywood fraternity. Ever since the IMPPA has banned Pakistani actors, there have been varied opinions; some feel that imposing the ban is a good decision, while some others feel completely the opposite.
In short, there has been a heated debate whether banning Pakistani terrorists would stop terrorism or not. Earlier, we had seen how Ajay Devgn had taken a strong stand for this ban and how he had received appreciation for the same.
Amidst all this, media asked Big B about his opinion on this ban; but instead of taking sides, he had a very smart and meaningful answer. When he addressed the media on his 74th birthday, Big B said that instead of speaking about this ban, we must think about the plight of those soldiers.
He says “This is not the time and I don’t think it is right to put forward these questions. Who said what, where and how… this is not the time.”
His thoughts were similar to that of Akshay Kumar, who was also of the opinion that instead of creating controversies, we must focus on the families of the soldiers. Big B said
“The nation is incensed we all know that. People of this country are very angry by the incidents that have been happening at the border. I think it is the time to show solidarity to our jawans and our armed forces who are sacrificing their lives so that you and me can be safe here. That is what needs to be put in question. Nothing else.”
Talking about the ban, Amitabh Bachchan said that he respects all artistes; yes, this was his short and sweet reply on the issue. When asked if he would pay homage to the martyrs by singing, the actor said;
“Someone praised the Hanuman Chalisa I had recently sung and said I should pay homage to Uri martyrs. I said I would like to do it but would need to have some inputs. But it was reported that it is indeed happening,”
This is indeed a wise reply by Amitabh Bachchan. He is always known for his maturity, and this surely reflected in the way he replied; don’t you think so? Do share your views in our comments section below.
