Couple of days back, as per claims by Sakshi.com, we had reported that a Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 had burst in a user’s pocket. The user had said that he will file a case against the company for giving such a defective piece and would drag it to the court.
However, Xiaomi had released a statement in which it had said that its main focus is on quality and that it will investigate the matter. After this, everyone was waiting to see what the investigation report says.
Finally, the preliminary report has been released by the company and it has revealed the reason behind its explosion. The company stated that the device could be procured only after a week of following up with the customer, who got serious injuries as per claims.
An official statement has been released by Xiaomi which reads,
“Upon first impressions of the damaged device, we can conclude that extreme external force was applied to the device, which led to the back cover and battery being bent and screen getting damaged. A detailed investigation has been launched to understand the exact cause of the damage.”
The statement further read,
“We would like to request our customers to avoid opening the device, puncturing the battery or applying extreme physical force to the device. Further, do refrain from getting your smartphone repaired at unauthorized repair shops. Instead, if you find issues with your device, visit Xiaomi Authorized Service Centers or reach us directly on our hotline 1800 103 6286.”
Glad that the company has addressed the issue and has come up with a reason behind the phone exploding. However, this was just a first impression and further investigation is yet to be concluded.
