Arriving in Trivandrum
Thiruvananthapuram International Airport is approximately 6 km from the Padmanabhaswamy Temple. The drive to East Fort takes 20 to 30 minutes on a normal morning. App-based cabs and prepaid taxis are available outside arrivals. For groups, pre-arranging a vehicle for the full day is more practical than booking individually for each site, particularly if the plan includes Varkala or Neyyattinkara. Padmanabhaswamy Temple
The Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple in East Fort is dedicated to Lord Vishnu in the Ananthasayanam posture, reclining on the thousand-hooded serpent Adi Shesha. The idol is so large that it is viewed through three separate doors, each revealing a different part of the deity. The temple is managed by a trust headed by the royal family of Travancore and is among the holiest Vaishnava shrines in the country.
Entry is permitted only for Hindu devotees. There is no entry fee for general darshan. Mobile phones, cameras, and leather items are strictly prohibited inside the premises. Locker facilities are available near the entrance.
Lakshadeepam, the grandest festival, is held once every six years, where a large number of devotees attend. Also, the two major annual festivals, Alpasi Utsavam in October and November and Painkuni Utsavam in March and April, each run for ten days with grand processions and special poojas.
Darshan Timings
Darshan takes place in fixed slots across the day:

Dress Code
The dress code applies without exception. Men must wear a dhoti or mundu, with the upper body bare or covered with an angavastram. Shirts and trousers are not permitted. Women must wear a saree, half-saree, or churidar with a dupatta. Sleeveless clothing is not allowed.
Rental dhotis and sarees are available near the entrance at low cost, so travelling light from Bengaluru is manageable.

- Varkala Janardhana Swamy Temple: Situated roughly 50 km away, the temple sits on the clifftops above Varkala beach and is among the oldest Vishnu temples in Kerala.
- Sabarimala connectivity: Trivandrum is one of the common base cities for Karnataka pilgrims travelling to Sabarimala during the season from November through January. Many Bengaluru devotees fly in and continue by road via Pathanamthitta.
