Now, Haryana government has decided to take a strict action against the hospital for their negligence and unethical act.

Haryana’s health minister, Anil Vij on Wednesday lashed out and blamed the Fortis hospital for Adya’s death and also condemned the act of overcharging for treatment.

Anil Vij also revealed that the state government will get a criminal case registered against the hospital on charges of “causing death by negligence” under Section 304-A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Anil Vij has being quoted as saying by News 18-

“We are going to lodge an FIR against Fortis for criminal negligence. We will also write to the Indian Medical Association (IMA) to cancel their license. Moreover, we have also given a notice for cancellation of blood bank in that hospital.”

A 3 member probe panel was constituted by the state government to investigate the matter and it was found that the hospital charged Adya’s parents extra price for treatment and looted them for 108 per cent profit margin in medicines and as high as 1737 per cent profit margin in other consumables.

These are really shocking findings and we admire the way government has acted on it.
