India has produced many great cricketers who have made the country proud by performing well at the international level and by making their team win trophies. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) ensures that the cricketers are awarded and get their due for the contribution that they have made for Indian cricket.
Having a stand in their name in a stadium is certainly one of the biggest honours that a cricketer can get and today we will let you know about five Indian cricketers who have a stand in their name in a stadium.
1. Sachin Tendulkar:
The former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar is considered as the God of cricket by his fans and he has several records to his name including the record of the most number of international centuries. Sachin Tendulkar has received many awards till now including the highest civilian award, i.e., Bharat Ratna award and what makes it more special is the fact that he was the first sportsperson to win this highly esteemed award.

Sachin Tendulkar used to represent Mumbai at the domestic level and the Mumbai Cricket Association honored their local cricketer by naming a stand in his name at Wankhede stadium, Mumbai.
The level of Sachin Tendulkar’s popularity can be understood by the fact that one more stand has been named on his name and that too in Sharjah.
On the occasion of Little Master’s 50th birthday, the West Stand at Sharjah Cricket Stadium was renamed as Sachin Tendulkar stand and a special ceremony was organized for this purpose.
2. MS Dhoni:
MS Dhoni, one of the greatest captains India has ever had, is the only skipper to win three ICC trophies – 2007 T20 World Cup, 2011 World Cup and 2013 Champions Trophy. Mahi who is also called Captain Cool by his fans is currently playing in the IPL 2024 and most probably, this is his last IPL as a player as he has already handed over the CSK captaincy to Ruturaj Gaikwad.
MS Dhoni is from Ranchi and the Jharkhand State Cricket Association honoured him by naming a stand in his name at JSCA stadium, Ranchi.
3. Yuvraj Singh:
Yuvraj Singh certainly has a great fighting spirit as he made a comeback on the field after winning the big battle against cancer. The all-rounder played an important role in India’s 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 ODI World Cup victories; in fact in 2011 WC, he was the Man of the Tournament. Yuvi also holds the record of hitting six sixes in an over which he did in a match of 2007 T20 World Cup, he smashed six sixes in an over on the bowling of England pacer Stuart Broad.
The Punjab Cricket Association has named a stand in Yuvraj Singh’s name in I.S. Bindra Stadium, Mohali.
4. Harbhajan Singh:
Harbhajan Singh was also a part of the team which won 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 ODI World Cup and he can easily be counted among the best spinners of all times. His fans used to call him Bhajji and Turbanator and he has given many match-winning performances for his team.
The Punjab Cricket Association also honoured him by naming a stand in his name in I.S. Bindra Stadium, Mohali.

5. Virat Kohli:
Virat Kohli is only active cricketer in this list who has a stand in his name in a stadium. He is touted as the Greatest Of All Times (G.O.A.T.) by his fans and there are several records in his name which seem to be unbreakable at the moment.
Virat Kohli plays for Delhi at the domestic level and the Delhi and District Cricket Association honoured him by naming a pavilion in his name at Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi.
