Ravichandran Ashwin is certainly one of the most underrated Indian cricketers of the present time, the all-rounder debuted at the international level in the year 2010 and since then, he has played 88 test matches (3043 runs, 5 hundreds, 13 fifties & 449 wickets), 113 ODIs (707 runs, 1 fifty & 151 wickets) and 65 T20Is (184 runs & 72 wickets).

“Future India Coach,” Fans Are Impressed With Ashwin’s Analysis After India’s Innings Vs SL - RVCJ Media

The Tamil Nadu cricketer can easily be called one of the courageous cricketers of all times because he stood his ground firmly when he was slammed by not just many foreign cricketers but some Indian current and former cricketers as well over mankading Jos Buttler in an IPL 2019 match.

Ravichandran Ashwin is also known as a very smart cricketer whose analytical skills are pretty good. Recently he analyzed the first T20I match of the 3-match series which was played a couple of days back between India and Sri Lanka at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. India won the match by 2 runs after posting a total of 162/5 runs on the board.

This Indian squad was quite different from the T20 team which we saw in the ICC T20I World Cup and what made them different was their aggressive approach. Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill opened the innings for India, though Shubman Gill (7) got out early and even Suryakumar Yadav (7) and Sanju Samson (5) returned to the dug-out quickly, the Indian batters kept on batting aggressively and didn’t give a chance to the bowlers to take control of the match. While Ishan Kishan (37 runs) and Hardik Pandya (29 runs) played useful innings, it was Deepak Hooda (41 runs) and Axar Patel (31 runs) who produced a partnership of 68 runs and helped the team in putting up a good total on the score board.

Ashwin made a tweet in this regard in which he wrote,

“In this format (T20) measuring performances can prove to be catastrophic if we don’t measure the processes, therefore I believe the ‘Batting Intent Index’ could be a great starting point. #T20 #INDvSL

Cumulative Impact greater than Volume💪💪”

Soon Twitterati went gaga over the analysis done by him. Here are some selected reactions:

The second T20I will be played today (5.1.2023) at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune, and India will certainly like to seal the series by winning today’s match which will start from 7 pm.
