India head coach Gautam Gambhir recently spoke about his relationship with former India captain Rohit Sharma, revealing that their connection goes back much further than their coach-captain days.
Gautam Gambhir explained that his relationship with Rohit was already well established before he became the Indian team’s head coach. When Rohit entered the Indian team and was still finding his feet in international cricket, Gambhir was already one of India’s senior players.
According to Gambhir, this long association meant that the two did not have to start from scratch when they eventually worked together in different roles. He had watched Rohit Sharma develop from a young international cricketer into one of India’s most prominent players and leaders.
