While everyone felt that Gautam Gambhir got irked after hearing the names of Kohli and Dhoni because of which he made this gesture, GG took to social media and cleared the air by saying that he made that gesture to those who were talking about his country and not to those who were chanting the names of Indian cricketers as he loves cricketers of his country.

This is what Gautam Gambhir tweeted, “‘A lie can travel half way around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes’. Not everything is as it seems. Any Indian would react how I did to the kind of slogans used against our nation. I love our players & I love my country.”

Gautam Gambhir also speaks to media about his controversial gesture and says that whatever has been shown on the social media platforms is absolutely false. He added that there were 2-3 Pakistanis who were shouting anti-India slogans and he just reacted naturally because if someone speaks against one’s country, then that person just can’t smile and leave, he will certainly react and this is how he reacted because he just can’t hear anything against his country.

As far as the match is concerned, India won the rain-affected match against Nepal by 10 wickets and now it has entered the Super Four stage.
