India may have won two cricket World Cups – 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 ODI World Cup under the captaincy of MS Dhoni but it won’t be wrong to say that it would have been impossible to win both the trophies without Gautam Gambhir and Yuvraj Singh. While MS Dhoni is appreciated a lot for these two wins, the efforts of other players especially of these two get overshadowed and Gautam Gambhir has been quite vocal in this regard on various occasions.
On 3 April 2023, MS Dhoni and Gautam Gambhir were competing against each other as on that day, Chennai Super Kings clashed against Lucknow Super Giants and the former won the match by 12 runs. As far as the match is concerned, LSG decided to bowl first after winning the toss but CSK batted pretty well and put up a big total of 217/7 in its stipulated 20 overs with the help of brilliant knocks of Ruturaj Gaikwad (57 runs, 31 balls, 3 fours & 4 sixes) and Devon Conway (47 runs, 29 balls, 5 fours & 2 sixes).
Though LSG tried well to chase the target, it fell short by 12 runs in the end. CSK’s Moeen Ali was adjudged as the Player of the Match for his all-round performance as he scored 19 runs in 13 deliveries and also took 4 wickets in his 4 overs.
