India wrote history yesterday by winning the first ever bilateral series in Melbourne, Australia by 7 wickets. India had been up to a slow start, but the team proved its mettle in the final two matches.
Now, Sunil Gavaskar has slammed the Australian hosts for not providing the Indian team with any kind of cash prize or cash award after their win.
According to him, the Indian team should receive a share of the revenue they generated and after their historic win, they should have received a cash award.
After their victory, Dhoni was declared Man Of The Series and Yuzvendra Chahal was declared Man Of The Match of the ODI series.
Both the players received 500 US Dollars as a recognition for their achievement and their performance. Both donated this money to charity.
Gavaskar has slammed this amount and said that the team received only a trophy. He said that the organizers receive huge sums of money through boradcasting.
This money should be given to the winners as recognition for their efforts and performance. In a way, we do support what Gavaskar said.
What about you?
