When it comes to Facebook, friend requests from strangers are not always welcomed. Many a times, people make fake profiles, do time pass with girls and eventually ditch them. However, this story which we are going to narrate today is completely different and positive.
This is the story of Rebecca Luff (18) from Plymouth and Michael Young (25) from Adelaide, Australia; Facebook changed their lives for good. Yes, one Facebook friend request made things amazing for them.
How it all started?
Rebecca casually accepted Michael’s friend request 2 years back and they started having friendly conversations. After having some good conversations on Skype and Facebook, they made their relationship official in December 2015.
In September 2016, Michael visited Plymouth and the duo spent 3 weeks together; later they traveled to Amsterdam for a break. On meeting him, Rebecca said
“When we first started talking, I never thought it would be this serious. Nobody took us seriously for a long time; I think everyone thought it was all a bit bizarre.”
While dropping him at the airport, Rebecca was pretty sad as she didn’t know when she will get a chance to meet him next.
Their unique relationship!
Rebecca and Michael last met on the 3rd of October; after that, no one could stop them from online dating. In July, Rebecca has plans of going to Australia and spending 3 months with Michael. She says,
“I’m so excited to finally be able to go and visit the places he regularly tells me about, and of course finally get to meet his family and friends properly. It’s strange because I already feel like I know them, we’re Facebook friends and I regularly speak to them when we’re on Skype to each other. His Nan is letting me borrow her car whilst I’m there so I can travel around whilst Michael is at work, which is lovely.”
Everyone is quite supportive; now, Rebecca has Bondi Beach (Australia) on her wish list. The couple is aware that in future, one of them has to move to the other part of the globe to be together always.
