Internet is of a great use but like every other thing, it also has two sides, a good and a bad and its outcome thoroughly depends on how we use it. On a regular basis, we come across a number of videos on the web and social media; some are hilarious, some educative while few others are offensive and objectionable like this one in which a girl asks strangers for tearing the National Flag of India and in return, she would give them Rs. 1,000. I mean, really? Didn’t she tremble while doing such a shameful social experiment which is not at all sensible in any manner?

This social experiment was conducted by Radio Mirchi in order to show how patriotic Indians are but is it really the correct way to promote patriotism? They were not only encouraging people to tear the National Flag by offering them Rs. 1,000 but also trying to judge nationalism of the individuals based on their reactions.
How can you expect a person who is not able to earn meals for two times reject the offer which can earn him Rs. 1,000? Isn’t it inhumane in the first place to offer him a choice between respecting the National Flag and an opportunity to earn Rs. 1,000?
Irrespective of the choices made by the individuals, is it not an insult to the National Flag itself when the girl asks people to tear it. And who is Radio Mirchi to judge who is patriotic or nationalist and who is not?
With this experiment, the social experiments have now become a joke rather than making people aware and alert.
