In Indian society, cooking is generally considered to be the responsibility of women. Needless to say, sometimes they are not in the mood to cook and hence, they ask their partners to cook or have dinner outside and this may also turn into a topic of argument often.
But an argument over such a petty thing took a serious and very ugly turn on Saturday evening when a 30-yr man was purportedly stabbed a number of times by his 28-yr girlfriend and died on the spot.
The unfortunate incident took place in Uttam Nagar, New Delhi, when Eezu (deceased) was invited by Elvi Ujumma (accused) to her home. Shortly they indulged in a fierce argument which increased to such an extent that neighbors had to interfere. After neighbors left, their fight resumed and as per Elvi, it was all about making dinner. She went on to claim that it was the man who firstly hit her. She wanted to scare him and for the same, she brought a kitchen knife and threatened him. However, he didn’t take it seriously and made another attempt of assaulting due to which Elvi stabbed the man frequently.
An official quoted her saying,
“I got scared on seeing him bleeding badly and called my friends. Together, we took him to hospital. Doctors, however, declared him dead on arrival.”
After his death, she went back to her house and locked herself. When cops came to know about Eezu’s murder, they inquired and reached her house. Since the door was locked from inside, they broke open it and took her into custody.
Here’s what the home’s caretaker Vijay stated,
“Eezu had been staying here for three months. Her boyfriend often visited her, but I had never received any complaint against them.”
This is what a neighbor named Prabhjot had to say,
“The man often came to the house, but I had never heard them fighting like this. After some time, I saw the woman and her friends hailing an autorickshaw and taking the man to hospital. He was bleeding badly.”
As per cops, multiple stabbing resulted in the death of Eezu who was a Nigerian while cops have detained Elvi and booked her on the charges of murder.
People must know how to control their anger and should not lose temper over such petty issues.
