Muhammad Ali, the American professional boxer who proclaimed himself “The Greatest” lost his life yesterday. As NBC News was told by a family spokesperson, “After a 32-year battle with Parkinson’s disease, Muhammad Ali has passed away at the age of 74. The three-time World Heavyweight Champion boxer died this evening.”
Muhammad Ali is undoubtedly counted among the most recognized sports personalities. BBC honored him with the title of “Sports Personality of the Century” while Sports Illustrated regarded him as “Sportsman of the Century”.
