A female journalist in Bengaluru was slut-shamed by an auto driver whose auto she hired for travelling.
Aishwarya Subramanian was given a lecture by the auto driver on her dressing sense as he shamelessly stated that Aishwarya’s knee-length dress is inappropriate for being worn by a girl. Not only this, the driver was so sure that he is correct that he allowed the lady journalist to take his photos and upload them online as he believed that people would support him more than Aishwarya.
This message was posted by Aishwarya on her Facebook page few minutes after the incident took place:
The driver whose name is Srikanth had no shame in criticizing a girl for her choices of dresses. He said, “Please don’t mind me but what you are wearing is inappropriate.” But the situation turned ugly when he gathered the courage to call her a “slut”.
But Aishwarya is the lady of today and she has a better idea of what she should wear. She wrote, “This is who I am. These are the clothes I wear. Everyone else can fuck off. Anyone can share this post. I am done feeling ashamed for being me.”
