Last year, Glenn Maxwell was named T20 cricketer of the year and just couple of weeks back, he was named Australia’s ODI Player of the Year; however, in this one year, his performances have subsidized to quite a good extent and he doesn’t seem to be the same cricketer he was a year back.
His performance was again questioned after the dismal performance of Australian cricket team in Chappell-Hadlee trophy which they lost against New Zealand. A Twitter user made a tweet after the third ODI:

However, one fan didn’t like that the Australian cricketer is being trolled on Internet and Glenn was quick to respond to him:

Now if we do a little research into the statistics of Maxwell, it is clearly visible that the Australian cricketer has played very important role in the team and he has handled the pressure situations as well in good manner but when it comes to his performance against the arch-rivals, he himself will like to avoid the figures.
His average against the New Zealand is 9 in 6 matches, his strike rate against New Zealand is 90 and top score is 29 not out. On a whole his overall record is far better than this; he has played 62 ODIs, average is 35 and strike rate is more than 125.
However, now if you look at his performance in New Zealand, his average is 1.75 and strike rate is less than 40. He has played 4 matches, scored 0 in 2 of them and his top score is 6 which he scored in the second match of the series that was won by the Australia.
