As cricket fans eagerly await the start of the 2025–26 Ashes, one name is quietly stirring excitement on both sides. We are talking about none other than Harry Brook! The young English batter has already earned admiration from many in the cricketing world but the latest praise comes from none other than former Australian captain Greg Chappell, who sees something special in him.

With the iconic Australia–England rivalry set to reignite in November, Greg Chappell has shared his thoughts on the players he is most eager to watch. Without hesitation, he named Harry Brook, describing him as a naturally gifted and technically sound batter. Greg Chappell said that from what he has seen on television, Harry Brook’s style reminds him of a young Sachin Tendulkar — calm, balanced and precise in his shot selection. He admired how Harry Brook keeps his movements minimal early on and has the ability to find gaps and score from almost any delivery.

Greg Chappell noted that Australian conditions have always been a challenge for visiting batters and it will be fascinating to see how Harry Brook handles that test. His curiosity comes not just from admiration but from genuine excitement about watching a promising young cricketer face the ultimate examination in Test cricket.

This is not the first time Greg Chappell has spoken highly of Harry Brook. Earlier in the year, he wrote that Harry Brook possesses all the qualities to become one of the finest modern batters of England, perhaps even their most destructive, and could be the natural successor to Joe Root. At the same time, he advised the 26-year-old to stay grounded and avoid the pitfalls of overconfidence.

Harry Brook’s numbers certainly justify the hype. In just 30 matches, he has scored 2,820 runs at an impressive average of 57.55, including 10 centuries and 13 half-centuries. During the 2023 Ashes, he amassed 363 runs across five Tests, showing glimpses of his immense potential.

As the first Test in Perth draws closer on November 21, the excitement around Harry Brook continues to grow. With Australia having retained the Ashes after a 2–2 draw in 2023, this upcoming series promises not only fierce competition but also the chance for a new chapter, perhaps one written by Harry Brook himself.
