Gujarat Titans (GT) endured a difficult end to their IPL 2026 campaign and the challenges did not stop after the final whistle. Following their defeat to Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL final on Sunday night, the team’s journey back to the hotel was disrupted by an unexpected transport incident involving their team bus.

The squad, along with support staff, was travelling from the stadium after the match when the vehicle reportedly suffered a breakdown on the road. According to reports, a short circuit inside the bus caused the malfunction and led to smoke spreading through the vehicle.
As a precaution, all the players and staff members on board were immediately evacuated. The situation briefly raised safety concerns but everyone was able to exit the bus safely and no injuries were reported.
After leaving the vehicle, members of the travelling group waited by the roadside while alternative transportation was arranged. A replacement bus was later brought to the location, allowing the players and support staff to continue their journey back to the team hotel without further issues.
Fortunately, all the passengers were reported safe and unharmed following the incident.

The transport scare came on an already disappointing evening for Gujarat Titans. Earlier, the franchise had fallen short in the IPL 2026 final, suffering a five-wicket defeat against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. While the loss ended their hopes of lifting the trophy, the unexpected bus breakdown added another unwanted chapter to a frustrating night.
Although the sight of smoke inside the vehicle caused concern, the swift evacuation ensured the situation remained under control. With a second bus arranged promptly, the entire travelling group reached safely, bringing a challenging day to an end.
Thank God, no one got harmed.
