On completing their 60 years, Guiness World Records on 9th December honoured some of the outstanding athletes from across the sports landscape including the great cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar.
Guiness World Records also called Sachin as the finest batsman to have ever played the game of Cricket. Sachin was also included in three new Guinness World Records titles for Most test matches in a career, Most centuries scored in International Cricket and Most runs scored in an International career.
Here is what Sachin said on being honoured by Guiness World Records —
I’m delighted to be included in the Guinness World Records 60th anniversary celebrations. I’m extremely proud of what I was able to achieve throughout my career in Cricket and to be recognised alongside so many other greats feels very special.
The “Little Master” Sachin Tendulkar currently holds 19 of the Guinness World Records titles. These records includes —

- Most runs scored in an international career (male)
- Most player-of-the-match awards won (international career)
- Most One-Day International runs scored in a partnership (career)

- Most international hundreds scored in a partnership (career)
- Most hundreds in a Test match career (male)
- Most Test runs scored in a partnership (career)
- Most centuries scored in international cricket
- First player to score a double century in a One-Day International
- Most runs scored in a One-Day International career (male)
- Most runs scored by a player in an ICC World Cup tournament (male)
- Most runs scored in an ICC World Cup career (male)
- Most hundreds in a One-Day International career (male)
- Highest partnership for any wicket in a One-Day International (male)
- Most Test matches played in a career (male)
- Most runs scored in a Test match career (male)
- First player to score a double century in a 50-over international
