Gurucharan Singh, the famous actor who is best known for the portrayal of Roshan Singh Sodhi in the popular serial Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah may have returned after being missing for 26 days but everyone is still talking about why he disappeared and what could be the reasons behind this behaviour of the actor.
Gurucharan Singh went missing in April 2024, police launched a search operation for him but they were not able to locate the actor who returned on his own and after returning, he said that he went on a spiritual journey during which he visited Gurudwaras in Amritsar and Ludhiana.
He gave an interview recently in which he revealed that after returning, he connected with all those who showed their concern when he went missing and he also met Asit Kumarr Modi after coming back to Mumbai.
Here’s what Gurucharan Singh said, “When this incident happened, I received a message from Asit Kumarr Modi asking me to call him. When I came back, I met with everyone who was concerned about me and who reached out to me. Since he has been my producer and has given me this work, I went to meet him.”
Gurucharan also revealed that he met few of his co-stars before embarking on the spiritual journey. In his words, “Before I went, I met Dilip Joshi at a common friend’s wedding. Before that, I met Mandar Chandwadkar and his family at Dilip Joshi’s son’s wedding. I also met Mayur Vakani, who plays the role of Sundar in the show. I met Disha Vakani and her family as well. I also met Balu, who is now playing the role of Sodhi on the show. He asked me to click a photo with him, and we had Dilip Joshi standing between us. The three of us took a photo together. I don’t have a problem with anyone. They started working before me, so I think of them as my seniors.”
It was also revealed after Gurucharan Singh went missing that he was facing financial problems and was in debt but in the interview, he clarified that he didn’t disappear because he was in debt but because he was hurt by his loved ones. He said that he is still in debt and asked people from the TV industry to give him some work. At the same time, he also made it clear that he would never have thought of suicide.
He said, “I didn’t disappear because I was in debt or because of my inability to repay a loan. There comes a time when you distance yourself from your family and the world. I had been hurt by my near and dear ones, despite trying to get work. I was continuously facing rejections. Having said that, I knew, no matter what happens, I was not going to think of suicide.”
