Safety of girls have always been questionable in our country and yet one such incident happened in West Bengal which brings us back to this question.
If someone clicks our pictures without our permission we are bound to feel uncomfortable. A similar incident happened on 28th July when a girl named Ditsa Upadhyay was travelling in Kolkata’s Howrah – Malda Intercity Express.
A guy named Pintu Mondal was sitting opposite to her and started clicking photos of her back. As soon as she realised what was going on, she snatched the phone from Pintu, but the phone got locked in a jiffy. When she asked him why he was clicking her picture, Pintu denied bluntly and started arguing. When she asked him to unlock his phone and prove his innocence, he was reluctant to do that either.

Pintu argued for a long time and Ditsa was brave enough to confront about it without any fear. When the situation got heated, he owned up and confessed that he did clicked her picture. He said that he was fascinated by Ditsa’s tattoo on her back and hence clicked the picture. Ditsa argued that he can’t click her picture without her permission and took the matter to the police. What followed after this was even more shocking.
The cops were reluctant to take any action and shamelessly commented that a girl from a decent family doesn’t get involved in matters of police and court. They further said that it was merely a picture of her back and was nothing to make a fuss about. Ditsa furiously said that it was her picture and it doesn’t matter if it her back or even her earlobe. No one can click her picture without her permission.
Her friend Satarupa Chakraborty recorded the whole incident on her phone and posted it on Facebook.

After such an incident it is really tough to decide which incident was more horrible. Was it the guy clicking her photo or the cheap attitude of the law enforcement officers.
We salute Ditsa for her bravery, or such cheap person could have got away and do the same with others. Do let us know about your thoughts on this.
