As a member of RVCJ Team, and trust me I am not bragging about it, we do get more than 300 e-mails every day consisting resume and CVs for various jobs like content writing, website designing, meme creating and what not. Choosing the best and promising out of those is indeed a pain in the ‘arse’. Some of them end up on our table while most of them end up in trash bin of our Gmail account.
It is practically impossible to have a complete look at the resume given the fact that we have 300 plus resumes to look at. And in this digital world, one tends to lose out on a lot of potential good employees in the crowd of the many others that look almost identical. It is always advisable to make your resume a bit different and catchy.
This guy played his resume game in the most amazing manner and made sure that no one could reject his application. In a way it wasn’t exactly meant to be a resume and neither a box of doughnuts. Surprised ? READ FURTHER.
The guy’s name is Lukas Yla who moved to San Francisco and was eagerly seeking for a job. However, he didn’t get one. He tried looking out for various jobs by sending in his resume, but nothing worked. But later on, he did something out of the BOX. He simply gave them a BOX. A box full of doughnuts.
Lukas Yla dressed like a normal delivery guy and personally delivered the box of doughnuts to potential employers and organizations. To make things look real, he took the pain of printing a real postman t-shirt.
But such kind of tricks are quite normal where people bribe employers in various ways. But what made him different from such people was the way he had put up his resume. The company’s name is ‘The Next Web’ and according to them, Lukas Yla has till now delivered 40 of these boxes and has received 10 calls for interview.
