The coronavirus outbreak has compelled the authorities to postpone all the sporting events as mass gathering may further result in increase in the number of infected cases as the virus is contagious in nature. The Indian Premier League has also been postponed till April 15 and all the cricketers who should have been training at this moment are now sitting at home with their family members as staying indoors at home is the best way to keep yourself safe.
Some famous cricketers are using their popularity to spread awareness about this disease and what precautions should be taken in order to remain safe from coronavirus. Harbhajan Singh who is also known as turbanator took to his Instagram account recently and tried to tell people that greeting each other by doing Namaste (greeting by holding both hands together facing each other inwards) is one way to deal with coronavirus.
Handshakes are a big NO at this moment as the virus is contagious and the governments are asking people to maintain a distance of at least 1 meter from each other. Moreover, if a person is suffering from cough or fever, it is advisable to maintain a distance of 3 meters at least.
Harbhajan who is a member of IPL team Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the moment posted an Instagram story and in one of the frames, CSK skipper MS Dhoni is seen with Preity Zinta, the veteran Bollywood actress and the co-owner of IPL team Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) and they both were shaking hands. In another frame, Bhajji is seen with Preity Zinta and he is doing Namaste to the beautiful actress. The caption that he wrote was, “One simple step to tackle #coronavirus”.
Here is the post:
The whole world has accepted Namaste as a way of greeting and many world leaders from different countries are now using it to greet other people instead of handshake.
Great post, isn’t it?
