Harbhajan Singh Backs Irfan Pathan Over His Tweet On Dhoni’s Age After CSK’s 3 Losses In A Row

Chennai Super Kings may have been the second most successful team of the IPL as it has won the trophy three times but this year nothing seems to be going right in their favor. Earlier they had to remain in quarantine for a period of 14 days because 13 members of their group including two cricketers tested positive for COVID-19 and then their star players Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh pulled out of the tournament due to personal reasons.

Though they started the league with a win against the defending champions Mumbai Indians, they ended up as losers in the next three matches that they played in the tournament so far. What is making things worse for them is that the skipper MS Dhoni is struggling in terms of fitness.

In their last match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, CSK had to chase the target of 165 but their top 4 batsmen were back in dugout in the first 10 overs only. Now the complete responsibility of winning the match was on MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja and both of them tried their level best but still they lost the match by 7 runs. Jadeja scored 50 before getting out while Dhoni remained not out on 47 but what was worrisome for CSK was that Dhoni was finding it difficult to run fast between the wickets. In fact, he was having difficulty in breathing and the support staff had to come on the field to help him.

Dhoni was already getting slammed for some of his decisions in the last few matches and now his fitness is also under everybody’s radar.

Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan took a jibe at MS Dhoni by making a cryptic tweet as he wrote, “Age is just a number for some and for others a reason to be dropped…”

Pathan was dropped from the team when he was just 27 years old and after that, he was never able to make a comeback in the Indian team. On the other hand, Dhoni is 39 years of age and was part of the team in the ICC World Cup 2019.

Soon Irfan Pathan got the support of his former teammate Harbhajan Singh who shared his tweet with the caption, “10000000 percent agree with you. @IrfanPathan”

Here is the tweet:

The Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh is also out of the Indian squad for five years and his return in the team is impossible now as the age is not on his side and also because Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav and others are performing quite well.

Getting dropped from the team is certainly painful, what do you say?
