It wasn’t just another IPL match, it was full of emotions, big hits and unexpected drama. At Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai Indians took on Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL 2026, delivering a night fans won’t forget anytime soon.

While many eyes were on the friendly rivalry between Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, the real intensity came from a different contest, between brothers Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya.
During a crucial phase of the match, Krunal bowled a sharp bouncer at Hardik who managed to avoid it. What followed was a tense moment, with both brothers exchanging serious stares, something rarely seen between them on the field.

The drama didn’t end there. Hardik Pandya, who was batting well and scored 40 runs, was eventually dismissed. As soon as he got out, Krunal celebrated energetically, showing just how important that wicket was for RCB. It pushed the team closer to their third win of the season.

The match itself was a run-fest, with more than 460 runs scored. Amid all the big hitting, Krunal Pandya stood out with the ball. He delivered an impressive spell, giving away just 26 runs in four overs and also taking the key wicket of Suryakumar Yadav who scored 33 runs.
While RCB enjoyed their return to winning form, MI have reasons to worry. After winning their opening match against Kolkata Knight Riders, they have now suffered three consecutive defeats and are stuck in the lower half of the points table.
Another concern for MI is Jasprit Bumrah who is yet to take a wicket in four matches, even though he has been economical.

There is also uncertainty around Rohit Sharma’s fitness. He had to retire hurt after scoring 19 off 13 balls due to a hamstring issue.
Mumbai Indians will now look to bounce back when they face Punjab Kings on Thursday, hoping to turn their season around.
