“He Must Be Thinking Why India Found Itself In Trouble,” Saba Karim On Dravid’s Viral Video

The Indian cricket team is certainly not going through a good phase as it failed to perform at the important moments including the Asia Cup 2022, the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 and then in the ODI series against Bangladesh. Though India managed to win the series by 2-0 in the 2-match test series against Bangladesh, it was definitely not a convincing win as the Bangladeshi team was in a strong position to win the second test match for majority of the time.

There was a time when the Indian squad had lost 7 wickets at the score of 74 while chasing 145 runs in its second innings but it was brilliant and sensible batting by Ravichandran Ashwin (42*) and Shreyas Iyer (29*) which changed the course of the match and they stitched 71 runs partnership for winning the match.

There were smiles everywhere in the dressing room after team India won the match and the head coach Rahul Dravid came out and hugged both the cricketers but there was a time when Rahul Dravid and other team members had a very serious and concerned look.

Here’s the clip which went viral:

Now the former Indian cricketer Saba Karim has reacted to Dravid’s visuals as he said that more than anything else, there was a sense of relief in team India because the manner in which the chase took place, it must have left everyone in an upset and panic state. According to Saba Karim, Rahul Dravid must be thinking as to how the team got itself into such a problematic state because it needed to chase only 145 which shouldn’t have been a problem considering the fact that it needed to do it against Bangladeshi bowling. He adds that not everyone will agree with few decisions such as promoting Axar Patel ahead of Rishabh Pant and Jaydev Unadkat but Indian batters not being able to chase 145 comfortably that too on day 4 against Bangladeshi bowlers raises some big questions regarding Indian batting.

Showering praises on Ravichandran Ashwin and Shreyas Iyer, Saba Karim says that their ability to bat like this in the fourth innings is one of the positives that the Indian team can take from this test match. He further says that the importance of scoring runs in the fourth innings has a different value and if a cricketer’s average is more in the fourth innings, he is certainly one of those who have both skill and technique; however, there is one more thing needed for successfully completing such tricky chases and that is temperament.

There is no denying the fact that the Indian team has many questions to answer because if it is struggling against Bangladesh, how it will win against strong teams such as Australia and England.
