In Jaipur’s Kardhani area, a horrifying incident has left people across the country shaken. What began as an ordinary household quarrel on Monday ended in the brutal ki*ling of a mother by her own son, Naveen Singh.
According to police, the victim named Santosh Singh was attacked inside the kitchen of the family’s home in Arun Vihar. Her husband Laxman Singh, a Delhi Police constable and former Army man, along with their daughters, tried to restrain Naveen but they were unable to stop him.
The shocking details of the assault came to light after a video of the incident surfaced. The recording, reportedly made by a family member, shows Naveen repeatedly punching his mother. Even after she collapsed unconscious, he continued the assault, eventually strangling her and striking her head with a stick. Despite desperate attempts by the family to intervene, the violence did not stop.
Neighbours, alarmed by the chaos, called the police who arrived quickly and detained Naveen. Santosh was rushed to a hospital, bleeding and unconscious, but she could not be saved. Investigators have said that a head injury was likely the main cause of de*th, though the postmortem report is awaited.
Police later revealed that Naveen was heavily addicted to alcohol and frequently fought with his mother. On the day of the attack, tensions escalated when Santosh disconnected the Wi-Fi and scolded him after the LPG cylinder had run out. Enraged, Naveen lost control and the situation spiraled into fatal violence.
The tragedy has left the family devastated. Laxman Singh has demanded the capital punishment for his son. He expressed that his child not only destroyed his own life but also took away the person who held the family together. He said that despite their attempts to intervene, Naveen’s uncontrollable rage proved fatal and his wife di*d during treatment at the hospital.

Police also disclosed that Naveen had been married in 2020 but his wife had left him due to constant domestic disputes.
