He Was Stabbed Many Times; Bleeding Profusely But Had To Walk 2.5km For Help

The 26-yr IT admin was stabbed in back, leg as well as shoulder just because he tried to resist loot but what’s more pathetic is that the poor man walked around 2.5km to reach the hospital while blood was flowing copious from his body. To add to your shock, he asked for help from many people on the way but no one came forward to provide him assistance in making it to the hospital.

We are talking about Ulsoor resident Santosh R who’s a private company employee. He went to visit his friend on Saturday evening in KR Puram and left about 9:30. For catching a bus, he moved to ITI flyover or cable bridge and on not finding any bus, he started heading to Old Madras Road for boarding metro. Nevertheless, at about 9:45 when he could reach only the bridge’s middle, he was stopped by a white Suzuki Access in which there were two anonymous men and they asked him for directions.

As told by the victim, “They asked me the way to the KR Puram Railway Station, and when I told them it was below the bridge, they began abusing me in vulgar language. They asked me why I was on foot, and not in a vehicle. The rider suddenly swung his helmet at me and tried to grab my phone, but I resisted. The pillion then got off, took out a curved dagger, and stabbed me multiple times.”

Even after that, he made an attempt of keeping hold of their scooter and cried for aid. Although many vehicles travelled on the bridge, there wasn’t any to stop for Santosh.

Recalling the incident, he stated, “I tried snatching the bike’s key to turn the ignition off, but the duo escaped. Gravely injured, I continued to shout for help and tried to stop passing vehicles in the hope that someone would see my plight, but in vain. I was forced to walk towards Chinmaya Mission Hospital in Indiranagar, nearly five kilometres away.”

The victim was getting unconscious due to the loss of blood and fell down on the Old Madras road, outside Big Bazaar after walking for about 2.5km. There his critical condition and clothes which were all soaked in blood were noticed by a good human being. He was said to have paid the autorickshaw driver to take the victim to Chinmaya from where he had been shifted to Bowring hospital.

In the words of Santosh, “It was well past 10.30 pm when I was taken into the emergency ward of Bowring. Doctors said the dagger had missed damaging my kidneys by mere centimeters. Police visited me and took details of the incident, and were very cooperative throughout. Since it was pitch dark on the bridge, couldn’t note down the registration number of the two-wheeler. I have been advised complete bed rest, and am recuperating at home.”

The incident was confirmed by N Satheesh Kumar, DCP (east), nevertheless, it couldn’t be recorded on camera since there was not any CCTV. As per DCP, “Based on the physical description of the assailants provided by the victim, we have identified the main accused as a rowdy-sheeter who is a resident of Bhattarahalli. His movements are being tracked based on his cellphone tower location and he will be arrested soon. He will lead us to his associate who was riding the vehicle.”

Investigation is going on and a case is filed under various IPC sections.
