Heartbroken Sarfaraz Shares A Post As Rahane Got A Place In WTC Final & He Did Not

The Indian cricket team will be playing the finals of the World Test Championship against Australia starting June 7 at The Oval, London and recently, the selectors announced the Indian squad for the WTC final.

One name that surprised many is of Indian cricketer Ajinkya Rahane who is playing superbly in the ongoing IPL 2023 and many feel that he has been included in the squad on the basis of his IPL performance while there are few who are questioning as to why the young Indian cricketer Sarfaraz Khan hasn’t been included in the team.

Sarfaraz Khan has been knocking the doors of team India for quite some time now as his performances in the domestic cricket have been top-notch but still he has been waiting for a chance to play for the country.

Quite obviously, Sarfaraz Khan was disappointed with the snub so he took to Twitter and posted a broken heart emoji:

After that, Sarfaraz Khan also shared the post which was posted by a Twitter handle. The handle shared photos of Ajinkya Rahane and Sarfaraz Khan and captioned it as, “Should Sarfaraz Khan retire from Ranji and focus only on IPL for his test selections? No point playing Ranji if test team is selected on the basis of IPL performance #sarfarazkhan #ipl #ajinkyarahane @sarfarazkhan977”

Well, if you are also thinking that Ajinkya Rahane has been selected because of his IPL form, then you should listen to what Sunil Gavaskar has said. Little Master stated that first of all, the team management needed a replacement for Sheyas Iyer who is injured at the moment and has been ruled out of the WTC final and secondly, Rahane performed decently in the domestic season for Mumbai.

The former cricketer Irfan Pathan was also of the same opinion and he said that Ajinkya Rahane would not have got selected if Shreyas Iyer had been available.

Sarfaraz Khan should keep patience and keep on performing in domestic, he will certainly get the chance to play for the country.
