The other day, we reported about Akshay Kumar’s upcoming flick ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’, revolving around PM Modi’s cleanliness drive, Swachh Bharat Abiyaan. But have you ever thought as to what made Akshay take up this theme? What came to his mind that he chose this topic?
Well, Akshay Kumar met Modiji at the International Fleet Review in Vishakapatnam on the 6th of February. There, he had a detailed discussion with the PM on cleanliness in the country. After this conversation , he got an idea of making a film on this theme.
Reports quoted sources as saying
“Kumar got impressed and started working on this after the meeting with the PM in an effort to contribute to the social cause. We learn he will start shooting for the film in November,”
Modiji also gave information to Akshay about the various steps that government had taken for making this drive successful.
Basically ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ is a satire which revolves around the issue of open defecation in India. Soon, government and Akshay would have some conversations to get detailed information on Swach Bharat Abhiyan.
Recently Amitabh Bachchan and Kangana Ranaut were also seen promoting cleanliness through a video. Fans are very excited to see how Akshay would highlight this issue in the upcoming flick.
Some reports say that this is a Neeraj Pandey movie, but he himself rubbished the rumors saying
“That film (Toilet) is not being directed by me. It is a script written by my team members – Siddharth and Garima. I just mentored them. The project is going on floors by the end of this year, and it’s going to be directed by my editor.”
