Sonam Kapoor starrer “Neerja” is releasing on February 19; this movie is directed by Ram Madhvani and portrays the story of Neerja Bhanot’s exemplary courage which she showed when Mumbai to New York, Pan Am Flight 73 was hijacked on Sept. 5, 1986 by four terrorists who belonged to the Abu Nidal Organisation.

Neerja was just 23 years old when she lost her life in the process of saving 359 lives. She was India’s youngest recipient of the highest gallantry award in the time of peace or away from battlefield, Ashok Chakra.

The makers of Neerja tweeted the recording of her last flight announcement which she made with a statement which read, “The voice of our hero, the inspiration of a generation! #Neerja Bhanot”. Undoubtedly, Neerja was an extraordinary girl who valued the lives of others more than hers and you rarely find people like her!
