Herschelle Gibbs Trolls ICC With This Hilarious Tweet After ICC Made A Typing Error!

ICC is known to have an active social media account that without fail wishes all the cricketers from around the world. For a global sporting body, social media is the most convenient platform to convey their messages to the set of concerned players or fans. Obviously then, a mistake from their side is a thing least expected of.

The former South African opener, Herschelle Gibbs, celebrating his 43rd birthday today, received a birthday wish from ICC that left him slightly bewildered. The ICC, as usually, tweeted a birthday wish for Herschelle Gibbs but committed a typing error that made the wish all the more awkward for him. ICC instead of typing 8,094 ODI runs, tweeted ‘8,94’ runs. Herschelle Gibbs thanked them for their wish but did not miss out on taking a snub at them.

This is how Gibbs trolled ICC for their silly mistake. After Gibbs took a dig at them, ICC quickly deleted the tweet!

ICC corrected their mistake and tweeted a birthday wish again for the South African but once again they mentioned 8,940 runs while he has 8,094 runs in ODIs

Oliver Jones, the man who handles ICC’s twitter handle, apologised to Herschelle Gibbs and confirmed that it was just a typing mistake!

Herschelle Gibbs this time thanked ICC for their wishes! Now sure if he knew that ICC has again made a typo but anyways this time it was in favor of Gibbs because instead of reducing runs, ICC has increased the number of runs

Herschelle Gibbs is remembered for quite a few innings. He used to open the innings for South Africa along with Greame Smith and dominated the bowlers right from the word go. He also holds the ODI record for hitting six sixes in an over against Netherlands in the World Cup of 2007. His best innings though, is arguably his 175 against Australia that helped South Africa pull off the world record chase of 434.

We wish him a happy 43rd today and also wish ICC doesn’t make any such silly mistakes again in the future. Do let us know your views about this fumble from ICC in our comments section below.
