Second ODI Cricket World Cup was also played in England between 8 International Teams. England, India, New Zealand, Australia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, West Indias and Canada participated for the 2nd Cricket World Cup tournament. Total 15 games were played at 6 different venues of England.
West Indies won successive world title on the back of some destructive batting and bowling. In Final match West Indies beat England by 92 runs. The final featured a brilliant hundred from Richards (138*), an even more brilliant 86 from Collis King, and a destructive 5 wickets from Joel Garner. Viv Richards was man of the match for his 138* runs

Third ODI Cricket World Cup was also played in England between 8 International Teams. England, India, New Zealand, Australia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, West Indias and Zimbabwe participated for the 3rd Cricket World Cup tournament. Total 27 games were played at 15 different venues of England. Format of this world cup changed and this time each team played the others in its group twice to determine the four semi-finalists and winner of semi finals contest will play final match.
India upset West Indies in the low scoring Final match and won the match by 43 runs. Mohinder Amarnath (India) was the man of the match for his 26 runs and 3 wickets.

Fourth ODI Cricket World Cup was played in two countries India and Pakistan between 8 International Teams. England, India, New Zealand, Australia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe and West Indias participated for the 4th Cricket World Cup tournament.

Imran Khan’s Pakistan beat England in the first World Cup to be played in coloured clothing and under lights. Pakistan beat England by 22 runs in the final match. Wasim Akram was man of the match for his all-round performance with 3 wickets and contributing 33 runs of just 18 balls

Sixth ODI Cricket World Cup was played in three countries India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka between 12 International Teams. England, India, New Zealand, Australia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, West Indias, South Africa, UAE, Kenya and Neterlands participated for the 6th Cricket World Cup tournament. Total 37 games were played at 26 different venues of India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka revolutionised the one-day format with their manic hitting in the first 15 overs, and won the final match against Australia by 7 wickets. Arvinda de Silva was man of the match for his unbeaten 107 runs and picked-up 3 wickets

Seventh ODI Cricket World Cup was played in England between 12 International Teams. England, India, New Zealand, Australia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, West Indias, South Africa, UAE, Kenya and Scotland participated for the 7th Cricket World Cup tournament. Total 42 games were played at 21 different venues of England. The players as previous world cup wore coloured clothing, with names on the back.
Australia with consistent performances won 2nd World Cup title. In Final match Australia beat Pakistan by 8 wickets (with 179 balls remaining) in 20.1 overs. Shane Warne (Australia) was man of the match for his 4 wickets spending 33 runs in his 9 overs.

Eighth ODI Cricket World Cup was played in three countries : South Africa, Zimbabwe and Kenya between 14 International Teams. England, India, New Zealand, Australia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, West Indias, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Bangladesh, Canada, Kenya, Netherlands and Namibia participated for the 8th Cricket World Cup tournament. Total 52 games were played at 15 different venues of South Africa, Zimbabwe and Kenya.
Australia under Ricky Ponting Captaincy clinch their third World Cup title and second in a row. In the final match Australia win over India by huge margins of 125 runs. Australian skipper Ricky Ponting was man of the match for his superb 140* runs.

Ninth ODI Cricket World Cup was played in West Indies between 16 International Teams. England, India, New Zealand, Australia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, West Indias,Bermuda, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Bangladesh, Canada, Kenya, Netherlands, Scotland and Ireland participated for the 9th Cricket World Cup tournament. Total 51 games were played at 8 different venues of West Indies. This was the first World Cup to feature Powerplays.
Australia won World Cup title three in a row (Hat-trick). In a final match, Australian wicket-keeper batsman Adam Gilchrist led Australia to win over Sri Lanka by 53 runs (D/L method). Adam Gilchrist was man of the match for his 149 runs

Tenth ODI Cricket World Cup was played in three countries : India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh between 14 International Teams. England, India, New Zealand, Australia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, West Indias, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Bangladesh, Canada, Kenya, Netherlands and Ireland participated for the 10th Cricket World Cup tournament. Total 49 games were played at 13 different venues of India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
MS Dhoni played a masterful captain’s innings to steer India to World Cup success after long interwals of 28 years. In the final match MS Dhoni(91*) and Gambhir(97) lead India to World Cup glory. MS Dhoni (India) was man of the match for his 91* runs.
