Hyderabad Man Duped Flipkart Of Rs 20 Lacs For Over 200 Purchases By Exploiting Return Policy

We have seen customers making complaints against companies due to faulty goods or bad services but a youth from Hyderabad have turned the tables upside down and due to him the leading e-commerce company Flipkart has suffered losses of over Rs. 20 Lacs.

Veera Swamy, who is 32 yrs of age from Vanasthalipuram, Hyderabad has taken undue advantage of Flipkart’s goods return policy. He used to order expensive electronic goods from Flipkart in different names, such as in names of his family members and known people of the locality. After the goods were delivered, he used to call the Flipkart’s customer service centre and make complaint regarding the defective quality of the goods.

When the Flipkart’s official used to visit him to pick the goods back, Veera used to return the fake goods in the box and retain the original one, he cautiously wrote the item code and model number as received by him. It is said that he had many fake email ids and he used to make payments through different bank accounts. The company pays back the money as the goods are received by the Flipkart dealer.
