Income Tax Department Sends Shah Rukh Khan A Notice! Know Why

Undoubtedly, King Khan is counted among the wealthiest celebrities of not only India but also the globe. In recent times, SRK could make it to the second position in the list of world’s richest actors and unquestionably has a number of investments abroad.

This seems to be unacceptable on the part of Income Tax officers and that’s why, Income Tax Department has sent Shah Rukh a notice for declaring his foreign investments.

Shahrukh-Khan

It was about two weeks back that Income Tax officers asked the actor for revealing all the information with regard to his investments which he made in other nations excluding India and including the ones in British Virgin Islands, Bermuda and Dubai.

Officers are in doubt whether his foreign investments are disclosed or not. As per a source, “The notice was sent under Section 131 of the Income-Tax Act, which empowers tax authorities to conduct enquiries.”

The officials are making great efforts to find out whether there is something more than the declared ownerships of firms in countries which are very lenient when it comes to charging taxes. In addition, IT officers want to make out the functioning of these organizations along with the identity of the person sitting on the board.

Aside from Shah Rukh Khan, a number of industrialists have received notices. In fact, it’s an attempt of strengthening the promise of govt. to get black money back to the country. Notices have been sent to all the individuals having undeclared accounts abroad.

SRK’s reaction to the notice is still awaited.
