In India, Every Scooter & Bike Will Come With Daytime Running Lights From 1st April

The Indian roads are not very safe and this can easily be proved by the fact that in 2015, a total of 5,01,423 accidents took place and 28.8 percent of it included two-wheelers.

Sadly, 1,46,133 people lost their lives in these accidents which means that 17 persons died every hour and this is definitely a very high rate.

Undoubtedly, safety is a big concern and it needs to be improved. The good news is that our government is taking appropriate steps in this direction.

Yes, that’s right! The government has now made it compulsory for the two-wheeler companies to roll-out two-wheelers with Automatic Headlamp On (AHO) feature. This order will be implemented from April and this feature will be very much similar to daytime running lamps (DRLs) on cars.

This means that riders won’t need to switch on the headlamp manually; it will turn on as the engine will switch on. It will increase safety and hence, will result in saving lives.

However, the manufacturers have already started producing vehicles with the AHO feature. As this feature was made compulsory in Europe in 2003, the motorcycles which are imported do have this feature.
