India Exports 6 “Made In India” Metro Coaches To Australia #PROUD

This is for the first time in history of India’s manufacturing sector that “Made in India” metro coaches were exported to Australia. On Friday, six metro coaches which were made in Baroda for Australian government were shipped from Mumbai.

Each coach is 75 feet in length and its weight is 46 tonnes and Mumbai Port Trust loaded all of them in house. The target is manufacturing 450 metro coaches in the time span of 2.5 years and exporting them to Australia.

After the launch of “Make In India” campaign, this is one of its kind export that has been done by India and in simple words, this can be termed as a beginning step in the direction of making India a global manufacturing hub.

Important to mention that in the beginning of January only, Alstom Transport which is a French company has provided Kochi Metro with the first batch of “Made In India” coaches.
